Museum of Physical Culture in Slovakia was established on the date 24.10.1985 Ownership and Use Rights Bureau of the Central Committee of the Czechoslovak Union of Physical Education as a special-purpose device Slovak Central Committee ČSZTV without legal subjektivity.Mimoriadnym ČSZTV congress on legal succession has become part of the Slovak Association of Physical Culture as the organizational unit with the right act on their behalf.
Museum of Physical Culture in Slovakia is a national specialized museum. Serves as a guidance and coordination center in their area of ​​specialization. The museum's collection contains more than 11,000 three-dimensional objects. For example, the sports trophies (medals, plaques, cups, plastic) and sports gear, equipment, utensils and tools. A special part made ​​up of photodocumentation. The museum library is aimed at gathering and making available historical and factual literature in the field of physical culture. The research and practical activities of the Olympic movement in Slovakia and in the world, performing in Slovakia on the international sports arena and home affairs in the historical development and present. MTK provides consulting services and educational opportunities to the public, especially students, athletes, journalists, specialists in physical education, sports clubs and social organizations.
